The History
The Club Fender originally came to
popularity in the Edwardian era. Initially a purely functional means
of providing additional seating in billiard rooms and libraries,
it rapidly developed as an attractive piece of furniture, enhancing
the drawing rooms of fashionable houses whilst still retaining its
original functionality. It fell briefly out of fashion in the austerity
that followed the second world war but has since undergone a revival
as its qualities are appreciated once again.
At Rockingham Fender Seats we are
proud inheritors of this legacy, combining the solid virtues of the
blacksmith's art with the designer's eye for harmonious style. Appropriate
to both period and contemporary houses, our fender seats are available
in a variety of styles and finishes, providing a warm and satisfying
look to your room.
As our fenders are custom built to each order, we are able to advise
on and design to your exact specification, without obligation.
